Leaked ‘New iPhone XR’ Schematic May Actually Reveal the ‘iPhone 11’

Leaked ‘New iPhone XR’ Schematic May Actually Reveal the ‘iPhone 11’

Word on the street is that Apple is going to make some big changes to the iPhone lineup this year — not including a foldable phone, though.

We’ve got a look at a schematic today, posted to Slashleaks, suggests we’re looking at a “new XR”, which does seem to suggest this is the new iPhone XR. For those keeping track, the rumor mill has suggested that Apple is planning on launching an iPhone XR this year that will feature a pair of cameras on the back, rather than the single camera setup the OG model has.

Now, if we look closely at the image of the schematic, which is in no way confirmed to be real, it looks like we can see at least one more camera than two on the back. In fact, it appears like we can see three cutout holes for cameras, and two additional sections for what would probably be the flash and maybe a microphone.

In fact, we don’t even have to stare that hard to maybe see this design:

That is a concept image for the “iPhone 11” or “iPhone XI”, that initially cropped up earlier this year. There is some speculation that this is the design Apple is going to go with and not, say, a triple camera setup in a vertical design. This schematic for the “new XR” does not seem to point to a successor of the original iPhone XR, but may in fact be hinting at the incoming iPhone 11 design.

The schematic does show other interesting bits, including the cutout for a SIM card tray and the Lightning port. However, this does not in any way indicate the validity of the image. Even concept images that are likely to crop up after this schematic makes the rounds won’t be a definitive ruling on the matter. Apple is more than likely still finalizing the design of the 2019 iPhone lineup. Though, probably for not much longer.
Our Take

I really hope this design is not the way Apple goes. It is . . . not even remotely attractive. The triple camera design that sees the shooters vertically stacked is much more appealing, and hopefully that’s the way Apple goes this year.
We Want To Hear From You

What do you think? Are we seeing the first glimpse of a 2019 iPhone here, with a very strange camera design?

iOS 12.2 Suggests ECG App May Be Coming to UK and Other European Countries With watchOS 5.2

After installing iOS 12.2, some Apple Watch Series 4 owners in the UK are seeing new ECG screens that suggest ECG functionality will expand to the Apple Watch in the country when watchOS 5.2 is released.

MacRumors readers Sam and Chris have seen ECG setup screens in the Apple Watch and Health apps on the iPhone after installing iOS 12.2. The app is not, however, available on the Apple Watch in the UK right now because Apple hasn't yet released watchOS 5.2, which is likely required for the feature to work.

There's new documentation in the Health app in iOS 12.2 under ECG's "Instructions for Use" that also hints at upcoming support for the UK and other European countries:

For US Regions: The ECG app is available on Apple Watch Series 4 with watchOS 5.1.2 or later, paired with iPhone 5s or later or iOS 12.1.1 or later.

For non-US regions: The ECG app is available on Apple Watch Series 4 with watchOS 5.2 paired with iPhone 5s or iOS 12.2 or later.

There's also a new CE mark for the ECG feature in iOS 12.2 in the same document, which, as 9to5Mac points out, indicates that Apple may be planning to expand ECG functionality to all European Economic Area countries that use the CE certification mark.

It's not yet clear when Apple will launch watchOS 5.2, but with iOS 12.2 already available, it could be coming in the near future. Apple has not updated the list of countries where ECG features are available, but it could be changed once watchOS 5.2 sees a release. Also Read:jihosoft Free iPhone Data Recovery

Apple invalidates 355,000 signing certificates, affecting users globally

Apple recently invalidated thousands of signing certificates owing to a major SSL bug. Here’s all you need to know about it and more.
SSL CERTIFICATE ISSUE RESULTS IN THOUSANDS OF CERTIFICATES BEING INVALIDATED

On March 3, 2019, Apple determined that they were issuing TLS Server and S/MIME certificates with non-compliant serial numbers

According to an Apple representative, Apple first became aware of the issue while reviewing an updated version of the CA (Certificate Authority) software used for issuing SSL certificates.

Since this incident was detected, more than 878,000 certificates have been affected, out of which Apple has already invalidated 355,000 certificates.

This causes new Mobile Provisioning files to not include application-identifier and keychain-access-groups entitlement entries.

This bug only affects tools that use a new profile each time they build or sign an app.
WHICH TOOLS AND CERTIFICATES ARE AFFECTED?

Since both XCode and Cydia Impactor rely on profiles, they can’t build or sign apps anymore using a free or paid developer certificate. XCode simulator, on the other hand, continues to work as expected.

Apple users are not alone, however. Google, GoDaddy, Instagram, and Facebook (which is why it went down for maintenance yesterday) users are affected as well.

Surprisingly, this bug doesn’t seem to affect enterprise-grade certificates.

This explains how users are still able to utilize signing services like Panda Helper that distribute jailbreak tools and hacked apps signed with an enterprise certificate.
WHEN WILL APPLE PATCH THIS BUG?

Apple has stopped issuing signing certificates with non-compliant serial numbers and intends to roll out a patch soon.

Though some users have reported success with several XCode tweaks, there’s no single solution that works for all users.

If you own a jailbroken device, there’s a pretty straightforward workaround to this bug.

Just go ahead and install ReProvision signing tool, which works with both free and paid certificates. However, it will only work for apps or IPA files that were installed yesterday or before. Also Read:jihosoft Free iPhone Data Recovery

Cydia Impactor signing utility will remain defunct for the time being. Thankfully, Saurik is in the know and will push a patch, if need be, once the dust settles.

Why You Should Delete an Outlook OST File?

1. Why You Should Delete an Outlook OST File?

Outlook files are stored in both .ost and .pst modes. An ost file can be damaged in a number of ways and this, in turn, will lead to your outlook performing abnormally. In some other cases, the ost file becomes inaccessible and unreadable which is a problem for the user. Abnormal behavior of an ost file can also be caused by a virus intrusion into the system or a failed synchronization. To repair these problems, you can either resynchronize the exchange server with outlook and see if the issue is fixed or use a recovery software such as AnyRecover to get back your lost data.
2. How to Delete an OST File?

Before you consider deleting an ost file, remember to synchronize it with the exchange server. Deleting an ost file will erase all the offline storage of the said file. There still exists the possibility of data loss when deleting an ost file.

Deleting an ost file is pretty straight forward if you know where to search. The locations of various ost files differ in different versions of Outlook.

Here are a few steps to follow if you’re considering deleting an ost file.

Close the Outlook window if it is currently running.

Use the run window by pressing windows key and r.

Type in “%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook\” and click enter.

Select the ost file you wish to delete.

Avoid installing recovery software on the same hard drive where you lost your data.
3. How to Create a New Outlook OST File?

To allow Outlook function properly, an ost file is needed. Each Outlook version has different methods leading to the creation of an ost file. so here are steps to help guide you through it.

Creating an .ost file in Outlook 2016/2013/2010/2007

In Outlook 2007 open the tools menu, while in 2016/2013/2010 click on file then from the drop-down click info.

Go to account settings then click on Microsoft exchange.

Click the more settings button from the window that pops up.

Hit the advanced button, then click on the offline folder file.

Create a path to save the ost file.

The default name is outlook.ost.

Select OK and click finish.

Creating an ost file in Outlook 2003/2000

Open the Outlook application.

Go to the tools tab and hit e-mail account.

Click view.

Change existing mail account.

Find the outlook process email for the account in your order box.

Click on Microsoft exchange server then hit change.

Click the more setting option.

Click advance from the menu tab and hit offline folder file settings.

Open a new path to save the new .ost file.

The default name is Outlook.ost.

Click next and hit the finish.
4. How to Recover an OST File if You Deleted it Accidentally?

Recovering a deleted file is hard but not necessarily impossible. There are a number of methods to help you get back your files.

The first step is checking the recycle bin for the deleted file. If it is there all you need to do is hit the restore button in the recycle bin and your previously deleted ost file will be restored. Otherwise, you can go into account settings, proceed to change the cached exchange mode off then restart your Outlook. This will reconnect you to the exchange server and restore what was deleted. Turn cached exchange back on.Sponsor ads:

5 iPhone Features That Help Reduce Screen Time and Why You Should Use Them

5 iPhone Features That Help Reduce Screen Time and Why You Should Use Them

With the digitization of everything in our lives, it’s hard to not spend most of your waking day facing a screen. It all starts by scrolling through notifications on your phone after you’ve stopped the morning alarm. Everything from commuting, communicating, reading, getting entertained, shopping, navigating, to so much more — from the mundane to the exciting — many moments have us staring at our phone, computer, watch, or tablet screens.
Why You Should Use iPhone’s Screen Time Features

A recent New York Times article talked about top UK Doctors recommending families to “leave phones outside the bedroom” and other tips to reduce screen time. Studies cited in the article suggest that these could contribute to multiple issues like poor sleep patterns, self-esteem, body image, and other depressive symptoms.

Last year, both Apple and Google introduced features to improve our ‘digital wellbeing’, as part of iOS 12 and Android Pie respectively. These features, coupled with a few other no-brainer ideas, should hopefully help get that screen time down.
5 iPhone Features That Help Reduce Screen Time

Here are five iPhone features that help reduce screen time.
1. Using Bedtime Instead of the Alarm

I’m going to take an educated guess that most iPhone users prefer setting an alarm in the Clock app the old fashioned way, by using the screen below.

But if you were to look to the right of the alarm icon though, you’ll see an option called ‘Bedtime’. This feature allows you to set a ‘go to bed’ and ‘wake up’ time using a cool visual interface. By knowing the time you’re intending to go to sleep, this interface also calculates your sleep time. So if you’re as paranoid as me about getting your 7 to 8 hours of sleep every day, you’ll appreciate this feature.

You can configure the days of the week you want Bedtime to kick in, and it’ll automatically ring the alarm at that time. But most importantly, it will also automatically trigger the “Do Not Disturb During Bedtime”. Turning this on means that post your sleep time, the iPhone screen will stop showing any notifications, and instead, you’ll just see a dark Lock screen.

This is the meat of why you want to use Bedtime over an alarm — it’s too easy to fall into the trap of seeing notifications way past your bedtime, only because you picked up the phone to check the time.

All notifications received overnight will be made available to you after your morning alarm rings. In my personal experience, this has been a fantastic way to get myself to reduce my phone usage late in the night.
2. Silencing or Turning Off Notifications on Some Apps

iOS 12 brought some really useful improvements to Notification Center. Among them was something called ‘Instant Tuning’. The average smartphone user is barraged with notifications of both promotional and informational nature every day.

Simply swiping to the left on any notification and clicking ‘Manage’ presents you with two options — ‘Deliver Quietly’ and ‘Turn Off’. Choosing the former will simply slot notifications from that app into the Notification Center, making them visible only after you unlock your phone and pull down the notification tray. This means they will not be seen on the lockscreen — therefore making no sound or vibration, nor placing those tempting-to-click badges on top of app icons.

By only demoting their importance, you can choose to attend to them whenever you feel like. But then there are some apps which push notifications that are consistently irrelevant, and for those the ‘Turn Off’ option is the permanent fix.

Just imagine — the number of times you’ve glanced over your iPhone (or Apple Watch), only to realize some irrelevant notification that you couldn’t care less about. Unfortunately all notifications beep the same — so it’s hard to avoid looking at your phone, as you keep wondering if it’s something important.

By using the above ‘Instant Tuning’ features of iOS 12 — you’ll get less distracted and it should eventually lead to lower screen time.
3. Tweaking Apps to Send You Lesser Notifications

Some apps offer toggles to stop specific types of notifications being sent to you. Hence, it’s worth going into the Settings of such apps, and see if there are any. For example, Twitter offers a variety of toggles to turn off push notifications for things like ‘News’, ‘Popular in your network’, or ‘Moments’, etc. So you can continue receiving selective notifications from an app that are absolutely useful to you.

Similarly, in the Airbnb app you can choose to stop receiving notifications of promotional nature, but continue receiving important ones related to your booking. Bonus — while you’re fiddling these, also see if you want to disable getting the same alert via multiple mediums (i.e. push notifications, email, SMS). Remember, every phone buzz that you can avoid goes towards reducing your overall screen time.
4. Using Screen Time to Monitor Your Activity

There’s a famous saying that goes, “if you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it”. Despite putting self-imposed restrictions on your phone usage, there’s no practical way of knowing whether it’s actually working. That is, until iOS 12 and the introduction of ‘Screen Time’. Located within the Settings app, this feature gives you a numeric measurement of the time you’ve spent with the phone. Screen Time also does many other cool things.

Apart from showing the overall screen-on time of your iPhone, ‘Screen Time’ also breaks down usage by app or category. You can compare these data points for the last 7 days, and break it down by average usage per day. It will also tell you how many times you’ve picked up your phone, and what app was first used after pickup; perfectly illustrating what distracts you on a daily basis. Lastly, you also get a count on the number of notifications received per day — a figure which can be improved using the points mentioned above in the article.

Screen Time also has ‘App Limits’, which let you add limits to specific categories of apps. After you’ve crossed the threshold, the phone prevents usage of the app, unless you specifically choose to ignore the limit.

Lastly, you can also set up Screen Time on your child’s iPhone and remotely monitor their screen time reports.
5. Use Voice To Get Things Done

It’s safe to say that Siri Shortcuts hasn’t gotten mass appeal yet, and expectedly so, because creating your own shortcuts from scratch seems like a complicated affair. Fortunately, the iPhonehacks crew does put up information on how to make the most of Shortcuts, so I would recommend giving it a shot.

But the beauty of this feature is that you don’t even need the Shortcuts app to create flows of things you repeatedly do. Just go to Settings > Siri & Search > All Shortcuts. Here, based on your usage, you’ll see suggestions for repeated actions for which you can create a Siri Shortcut.Sponsor ads:
