iPhone and iPad users are being greeted by a new error message that reads “The iTunes Store is unable to process purchases at this time. Please try again later.” The error message typically crops up whilst opening third-party apps on the iPhone and iPad. Users have taken to Twitter to complain.
It is not clear as to what causes the issue. Moreover, the issue is not reflected in Apple’s system status page. At first glance, it looks like there is an issue with payment processing on iTunes. It is also very likely that iTunes might be facing an outage and the issue will be sorted eventually.

Most of the users have reported that the following steps helped them fix the error. Firstly, Sign out of your iTunes account and login back again. Go to Settings app> Tap on Name> Select Sign out. Please be mindful as some users are complaining that the App Store is locking them out and not allowing them to log in again. Other users said the error message stopped appearing after a couple of hours. The nature of the complaint points at an outage.
